What is The Launching Change Collective?
The Launching Change Collective brings together counseling, education, and digital solutions. Each area has its own services and way to get started.
How do I know which part of Launching Change to contact?
If you’re looking for therapy, start with Launching Change Counseling and Wellness Center. If you need help with a website or another digital project, start with Launching Change with Digital Solutions. For an educational project, collaboration, or general question, contact The Launching Change Collective.
Does contacting the Collective make me a therapy client?
No. A general inquiry does not establish a counseling relationship. If you are interested in therapy, we’ll explain the consultation and intake process.
1. Getting Started
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can be helpful for many different concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, life transitions, trauma, grief, behavioral concerns, and personal growth. You do not need to be in crisis to seek therapy.
What can I expect during my first therapy session?
Before your first therapy session, you will have a brief consultation call with your therapist. This consultation provides an opportunity to discuss what you are looking for, ask questions, learn more about the therapy process, and determine whether the therapist and services are a good fit for your needs.
The first session is an opportunity to get to know your therapist, discuss what brought you to therapy, identify your goals, and begin developing a treatment plan. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions and determine whether the therapist feels like a good fit for you.
Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on before starting therapy?
No. Many clients begin therapy knowing that something feels wrong but aren’t sure how to explain it or where to start. Your therapist can help you identify concerns and establish goals together.
Do you work with children and teenagers?
Yes. Individual counseling is available for children ages 7 and older, teenagers, and adults, depending on their needs and current availability.
Can parents participate in their child’s therapy?
Depending on the child’s age, treatment goals, and clinical circumstances, parents or guardians may participate in portions of treatment. Your therapist will discuss expectations and confidentiality during the intake process.
2. Therapy Process
How often will I need to attend therapy?
The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs, treatment goals, and clinical recommendations. Some clients attend weekly, while others may eventually transition to less frequent sessions.
How long does therapy take?
There is no set amount of time that therapy takes. Some concerns may be addressed in a relatively short period, while others may benefit from longer-term support. Your progress and goals will help guide the process.
What happens if I don’t know what to talk about during a session?
That’s completely okay. Your therapist can help guide the conversation. You don’t need to prepare a speech or have everything figured out before your appointment.
Will my therapist tell me what to do?
Therapy is generally a collaborative process. Your therapist can provide guidance, education, coping strategies, and different perspectives while helping you make decisions that align with your own goals and values.
What if I don’t feel comfortable with my therapist?
The therapeutic relationship is an important part of treatment. If something doesn’t feel right, you are encouraged to discuss it with your therapist. If the therapist is not the right fit, they can help you explore other options when appropriate.
Do I have to talk about my past?
Not necessarily. The focus of therapy depends on your concerns and treatment goals. Your therapist may ask about your history when it is relevant, but you can discuss your comfort level and boundaries with your therapist.
3. Services, Insurance, Payment, Privacy & Communication
Do you offer virtual or telehealth appointments?
Yes. Telehealth appointments are currently available on Mondays. You will need a private place where you feel comfortable talking with your therapist.
Do you offer in-person appointments?
Yes. In-person appointments are currently available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from noon to 6 p.m., subject to availability.
How long is a therapy session?
Standard therapy sessions are typically approximately 60 minutes and begin at the scheduled appointment time.
Can I schedule an appointment online?
Yes. New and existing clients can schedule or request an appointment online. New clients are required to complete a 15-minute discovery call before their first therapy session.
What should I do if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Please contact the office as soon as possible and give at least 24 hours’ notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged the full session fee. Late-cancellation fees are not covered by insurance.
What happens if I’m running late to my appointment?
Please contact the office if you anticipate being late. Depending on the circumstances, the session may still end at the originally scheduled time.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We currently accept certain plans through Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, and Horizon, and we offer private-pay options. Because participation can vary by plan, please provide your insurance details so we can discuss whether your plan may be accepted.
Will my insurance cover therapy?
Coverage varies by insurance plan. We recommend contacting your insurance company before your first appointment to confirm your mental health benefits, copay, deductible, coinsurance, telehealth coverage, and any authorization requirements.
What if you don’t accept my insurance?
You may choose to pay privately. Depending on your plan, you may also be able to use out-of-network benefits. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand those benefits. Superbills are provided on request if you would like to seek reimbursement from your insurer.
Do you offer self-pay or private-pay options?
Yes. The current private-pay fee is $175 per session. Please contact the office if you have questions about payment.
Is everything I say in therapy confidential?
Therapy sessions are generally confidential, with specific legal and ethical exceptions. Your therapist will explain confidentiality and its limits during the intake process so you understand your rights and responsibilities.
Can I text my therapist?
Yes. Text messaging may be used for scheduling and administrative communication. For privacy and clinical reasons, therapy is not conducted through text.
What should I do if I need help between sessions?
We will discuss appropriate communication and support options with you. Please do not use text, email, or the website contact form for an urgent concern, as messages may not be seen immediately.
4. Crisis Support
What if I am experiencing a mental health emergency?
Launching Change Counseling and Wellness Center is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are experiencing an immediate emergency or believe you may harm yourself or someone else, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department or crisis center. You can also call or text 988 for support from the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
The Digital Solutions page lists website design, content and copy support, digital strategy, workflow and forms, training and troubleshooting, and resource development.
Who do you work with?
We work with small organizations, helping professionals, and mission-driven teams that want to strengthen their digital presence, organize information, and communicate clearly online.
What kinds of projects can Digital Solutions help with?
We offer website design, content and copy support, digital strategy, workflows and forms, training and troubleshooting, and resource development. Tell us what you are trying to create or improve, and we can discuss which services fit your needs.
Do I need to have a complete plan before reaching out?
No. It helps to know your goals and who you want to reach, but you do not need to have every page, image, or detail decided. An initial conversation can help define the project.
Can you update an existing website?
Possibly. Share your website address and describe what you want to change. We’ll review the request and discuss what work is possible.
Can you help with website writing?
Yes. Content and copy support can help you tell your story clearly and make it easier for visitors to find the information they need.
What do you mean by workflows and forms?
We can help you look at how people contact you, share information, or move through a process, then develop tools that make those steps clearer and easier to manage.
Do you offer training and troubleshooting?
Yes. We offer hands-on support to help you use your digital tools with more confidence. Tell us which tool or problem you need help with when you reach out.
What happens after I inquire about a project?
We’ll discuss your goals, the work involved, your timeline, and the materials you already have. If the project is a fit, we’ll discuss the proposed scope, cost, and next steps before work begins.
How much does a project cost?
Pricing depends on the scope of the work. We’ll discuss your needs and provide project-specific pricing before you commit.
Is Digital Solutions part of my therapy services?
No. Digital Solutions projects are separate from counseling services. A digital project inquiry does not establish a therapy relationship.
